If I sign up for all Ontario news, how many emails should I expect to receive each day?
With an 'All News' subscription, you'll receive an average of two to four emails a day. Media subscribers may receive more, as subscriptions include both news releases and media advisories.
What happens if I subscribe to multiple news topics (e.g. arts and culture AND seniors)?
With customized subscriptions, you will get all the news releases from every topic you select. In the above case, you'd receive all news about arts and culture, and all news about seniors.
I didn't receive an email to confirm my subscription. What should I do?
Before you contact us, check any junk email folders and add newsroom@ontario.ca to your email safe-sender list. If you still can't find a confirmation email, contact us (newsroomhelp@ontario.ca) and we'll look into it!
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription any time by clicking the 'Unsubscribe from News On Demand' link at the bottom of any news email you receive. For security reasons, you'll need to enter and verify your email address.
Do I ever need to renew my subscription?
No. Subscribe once and you're all set. You will only need to re-subscribe if your email address changes. If this happens, visit http://ontario.ca/getnews to re-subscribe.
How do I change my subscription settings?
You can update your subscription preferences at any time by clicking the 'Edit your subscription preferences' link at the bottom of any news email you receive. For security reasons, you'll need to enter and verify your email address.
What is the difference between public and media news signups?
Public subscribers receive all or some Ontario government news releases to their inbox depending on which subscription they choose (all news or customized news). Media subscribers receive province-wide news releases plus media advisories, and any relevant local announcements. If you are not a member of the media, please sign up using the 'public' option.
How will you use my email address and other information collected about me?
Any personal information you provide, including your email address, will only be used to send you Ontario government news. You will not be placed on any other mailing lists, and your information will not be released to any third party.
